Winter Wonderland Crafts!

Valentine Hat
Baby, it's cold outside" seems to be the understatement of the New Year. With temperatures below zero in so many areas of the United States, I imagine winter boredom abounds! Cabin fever, here we come!

You are in luck though. I've found some creative outlets to help you (and me) stave off the snowbound blues, and hopefully keep the crazies from creeping in.

Valentine's Day Wreath

Sweater Head Wraps

From a crocheted Valentine's Hat to a funky Love Blocks Sign, you'll find something fun to make to take your mind off the chilly temperatures and winter dull-drums, and perfect for sharing on Valentine's Day. The DIY Sherpa Boots and Sweater Head Wrap will keep head and feet nice and toasty too.

May I suggest adding a hot cup of tea, cocoa or cappuccino to any of the crafts featured here? Just to make sure your fingers stay warm and mobile!

Americana Projects For The 4th!

Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays. (I am very fond of fireworks.) I love the bright colors, picnics, parades and the smell of grilling in backyards. I love watching the look on my boys' faces as they watch the big and small fireworks alike.

I also like decorating for the 4th! Red, white and blue patterns and projects always get me in a cheery mood. I've collected some of my favorite ideas and free patterns to inspire you to add a little Americana flair to your home and holiday this Summer - Enjoy!

Homemade Father's Day Gifts

You don't have to spend a lot of money to create a cherished gift for the awesome dads in your life. If you have small kids at home, the Father's Day Rock project or easy Father's Day Card are nice ways to tell dads how special they are. The best part: you probably have everything at home to make these crafts.

The wood craft projects and ideas are easy too but may require a bit more time and planning to assemble. I hope these ideas inspire and motivate you to get creative and make your own gifts for Father's Day.

Memorial Day Crafts to Celebrate!

With Memorial Day this weekend, you may find you'd like to add a little patriotic flair to your home or front porch, just to mark the day or to show a little patriotism. You may think you don't have any time left to create something...but you do - a three-day weekend! And who wants to buy expensive decorations at the store? Not me.

I've put together a few simple crafts (with many more on the site for patriotic inspiration) that can be made from supplies and stuff you already have around the house or yard. And upcycling, or repurposing, forgotten boards or tins is a nice way to celebrate too.

All I Want For Christmas Is...

A little peace on earth and at home! With all the hurry and scurry of the holidays it's easy to lose your peace and your mind. Between running to the mall for last minute gifts and running kids to school plays, I have no idea when I'll get it all done, let alone stay on budget.

Good news. There is a solution to all my hustle and bustle, and yours too! If you have yarn, some craft supplies and a tiny bit of time, it's not too late to create some adorable handmade gifts to share or keep!
