Fun New Features

We've started something new, just for you. In the online world of crafty blogs, social media shares and too much caffeine - it's hard to keep up with all the new crafting trends, DIYs and awesome tutorials out there on the internet. We brainstormed, bantered and badgered until we got the go ahead to feature our favorite bloggers and all their cool ideas at Craftown!

In order to keep up with the latest and greatest, freshest and trendiest (yes, I just made that word up) we'll be posting little features about all the neat stuff we find that we think you'll love to make, create, craft and paint; not to mention knit, sew and crochet.

Basically, you get access to more great content than ever before, bloggers get fun little write-ups about how awesome they are and we walk away feeling happy and content that we could share crafty goodness with all.

Here's just the tip of the iceberg. Try not to be overwhelmed.

Monogrammed Mugs

DIY Patterned Flats

DIY Foil Cards

More Christmas In July!

If you are a crafter, knitter, crocheter or other artsy person...have you started your holiday gift list? A few years ago, when times and money were short for many people including us, my husband and I decided we would start making all Christmas gifts. We both come from large extended families and we are both givers, so buying a gift (even a small one) made it really challenging on the bank account and our hearts.

During this transition from buying gifts to learning how to create gifts, we discovered a really cool little secret. And I am going to share it with you. The secret is: it's a lot of fun to make the gifts, in fact, it's more fun to create gifts than to buy gifts. I can't promise that all the recipients prefer homemade gifts to store-bought, but I guess that's their issue.

And now, on to this week's Christmas in July ideas!

Some pretty knitting for your holiday decor...

Christmas In July? Why not!

Too early to think about Christmas and gift giving? Not if you plan to make your gifts this year! Start early, finish early and enjoy the holidays knowing you've got it all done! So in the spirit of "Christmas in July" I thought I'd offer a series of blog posts filled with gift ideas that you can knit, crochet, build or create!

I will not, however, burst in to singing Christmas carols because that is taking it too far. Just saying. I've collected some Christmas and Winter hats to inspire you to start your holiday projects!
