A Few More Ornament Crafts...

To wrap up the Christmas season with!  (No pun intended.)  If you are having a New Year's Eve party or New Year's Day gathering at your home, a fun idea to occupy younger children/guests is to set up a craft station.

Rudolph Ornament

Fill your craft or "ornament creation" station with supplies to make one of these kid-friendly ornaments that the children can take home with them as a keepsake ornament for 2011.  My boys always love creating these kinds of crafts to bring home and hang on our tree.  Then, when the tree and decorations come down, they know their handmade ornament goes into the ornament box for next year.

Hand-print Ornament

Or, perhaps you could make a batch of ornaments to hand out as New Year's Eve party favors for your guests to take home as a special keepsake gift.  Get crafty!  Get creative!  Share your results with us here or on Facebook!

The Magic Of Christmas Ornaments

There is something so special about Christmas ornaments.  Each one hangs on your tree and has it's own little story to tell.  Magically, each ornament conveys it's tale about how it came into being, came to your tree, and who brought it.

Whether it is a home-made ornament from Grandmother, a child's school-made craft ornament, or a Hallmark ornament shared with a friend, ornaments have this sparkling way of lighting up a Christmas tree and (dare I say?) the little faces gazing into the tree.

We have many Christmas and ornament crafts for you to peruse over at Craftown.  So if your tree is a little baron of ornaments or you'd like to gift someone with a special handmade ornament, here are some ideas and crafts to get your started.  May you find magic in the making and giving of each ornament.  Enjoy!

Christmas Countdown Crafts!

Is it too soon to count down the days until...Christmas break is over and the kids go back to school?  Hmm, maybe?  Until then, browse our Christmas countdown crafts and add one to your home's holiday decor.  The nice thing about these crafts is they are fairly simple, come together easily, and are budget friendly.

Also, though they may have a "Christmas" flavor to them, they can each be adapted to other countdown causes, such as New Year's, Easter, Football Season, Opening day of hunting season, and birthdays!  The simplicity of these crafts truly allow you to be as creative as you want to be.  And let's face it, we might as well get creative if we have to watch the numbers tick by.

Be sure to submit a picture of your results to our site.  We love to see what you're craftin'!

Hats, Hats, and More Hats!

I am beginning to sound like Dr. Seuss a little, don't you think?  We have so many great crafts going up all the time at Craftown that it's hard to decide what to feature here in our newsletter.  But given that the temperature outside is plummeting, I decided hats would make an excellent featured craft this week.  Whether you are crocheting hats for gifts this Christmas or hats to go on all the little melons in your house, you will love these patterns.  Best of all...they are free!  (Always fun, Always FREE!)
