July Is Not Over, Yet!

Patriotic Quote Blocks
Yankee Doodle went to town...and came home with some paint and yarn! July is not over - yet! You still have time to craft some patriotic creations that pop. Besides, the 2012 Olympics are just 20+ days off and you want to be ready to show some team spirit!

Hexagon Dishcloth
Crochet these simple and quick Hexagon Dishcloths to adorn your kitchen. They are fun and functional and can be crocheted in a patriotic color scheme or any color combination you can come up with!

Star Blocks
Our patriotic star blocks are another simple project that can be made using wood scraps or another firm medium (like foam core or even cardboard) that you may already have at home on hand.

Simple Wrist Cuff
Another fast and easy crochet pattern, our Simple Wrist Cuff is destined to become one of your favorite go to projects for accessorizing your wardrobe or to give as a homemade gift. Enjoy!

Enjoy your July and the upcoming Olympic Games. Connect with us on Facebook and tell us how you are celebrating your summer!

In Honor of Earth Day!

Cupcake Flowers
Are you ready for Earth Day?!  In most places (inside the U.S. at least) Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd, so get ready to get your earth groove on.  Why not use one of our easy, earth-friendly craft ideas to help decorate or celebrate?

T-shirt Yarn Tutorial
We've got some great ideas for how to reuse, re-purpose and recycle some of that stuff hiding in your closet, cupboards and drawers.  Our T-shirt Yarn Tutorial is fun and simple and can be used for so many crochet or knitting projects.

Photo Flower Pot
Do you have some extra flower pots that need a pick me up?  Grab your Mod Podge, photo and a little paint and you are ready to create a unique and sweet Photo Flower Pot for you or someone special.

Recycled Sweater Yarn
Wander to your closet (or the nearest thrift store) and save some yarn - recycle your unloved or worn out sweaters!  (It's kind of like saving the whales...maybe you could knit a whale sweater from all that recycled yarn?)

Coffee Filter Angel
It's always fun and educational to involve kids in Earth Day.  Teach them young how to care for the earth and when they grow up...they will be earth lovers too!  There are so many things you can create from coffee filters.  (Visit The Idea Box if you don't believe me.)

Have a very happy Earth Day!  Please visit our Upcycle Crafts page and scroll down for more ideas.  We love feed back and photos, so be sure to send us some or connect with us on Facebook!
